Lure is a conceptual short film derived from the feature-length script, created to visualize and enhance the story's cinematic potential.
A tormented father resides in solitude while reckoning with his past. After the emergence of an old acquaintance, he is confronted by a horrifying reality that will change his life forever.

Hey everyone, I'm Jacob, the writer and director of Lure. It's been some time since we started production on this and it feels great to finally have it out there for everyone to see.
The story was inspired from a feature script that was written with my creative partner, Vrishub Merai, who I met film school when we were both amateur dreamers, trying to get our ideas off the ground. We are still collaborating today and plan to do this… well forever.
With this film, I wanted to tell a story that would live on its own merits but also fit into something larger that is yet to come. The film was shot over a long weekend at my family cottage with a limited cast and crew. I was able to surround myself with immensely talented people who believed in the project and gave more than I could have ever asked for.
In addition to this, I'm also excited to announce that we are nearing completion of our first feature film 'Chimera' that will be released later this year. Our goal is to realize Lure into our next feature film and bring to life the original concept that inspired us to make this. I would be honoured if you followed along with our journey.
Shot in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Lure explores themes of isolation and redemption through the lens of psychological horror. The film's haunting atmosphere is achieved through a combination of practical effects and natural lighting.
